The Ontario Tower Buzzers are the Los Angeles Dodgers’ new Class-A affiliate, and the grand opening of their $100 million stadium at ONT Field on April 2 has turned plenty of heads.
After their on-again, off-again relationship with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes—who served as their Class-A team in 1976-83, 1995 and 2011-25—the Dodgers heavily invested in providing an excellent fan experience while keeping their minor league squad in the same general area.
The question is, though, what merit is there in going to a minor league game? Why choose to attend a Tower Buzzers game when the Dodgers are in such close proximity?
Why Go to a Minor League Ballgame?
One of the biggest arguments for going to a minor league game over an MLB contest is something many feel the game has lost at the top level: intimacy.
With a capacity of 6,000, ONT Field provides fans the opportunity to get up close to some of the Dodgers’ top prospects in a far more personal atmosphere than at Dodger Stadium.
Additionally, fans get the privilege to see some of the top talents in the Dodgers’ system before they’re known across the league as stars.
Some of LA’s biggest names over the past decade passed through Rancho Cucamonga on their way to the show, such as former Dodgers MVP Cody Bellinger or future Hall of Famer Mike Trout. Currently, nine of the Dodgers’ Top 30 prospects call Ontario their home including MLB No. 86 prospect Emil Morales.
For many fans, though, the biggest driver is affordability. With higher-end tickets averaging less than $30, fans have the ability to see a great on-field product at less than 1/3 of the price they’d usually have to pay to get into Dodger Stadium.

Do the Ontario Tower Buzzers Have Promotions?
On top of those points, the Tower Buzzers have promotions or events at every one of their home games throughout the season.
The Tower Buzzers have a promotion for every day of the week—except Mondays, which they have off—guaranteeing fans a deal for fans who decide to go.
Family Sunday: “Sundays are for the whole family! Family Sundays bring exciting baseball, kid-friendly activities and special promotions designed to make the game fun for fans of all ages, presented by Cardenas Markets.”
Legendary Tuesday: “Tuesdays just became legendary at ONT Field! Join the Ontario Tower Buzzes for Legends’ Attic Tuesday, which features a special autograph signing during the game.”
Feria Wednesdays: “Join us on Feria Wednesday’s where great deals meet great entertainment presented by San Antonio Regional Hospital. Enjoy $5 reserved seating tickets that make bringing the whole family easy, then stick around after the final out for a post-game fireworks show.”

Keep the good times flowing from first pitch to last call.”Firework Friday: “Fridays shine brighter at ONT Field with Firework Friday! Stay until the final out and watch as the sky comes alive with a spectacular post-game fireworks show.”
Showtime Saturday: “Saturdays are bigger, brighter and buzzier than ever with Showtime Saturday! These are the nights when our primetime show happens. From celebrity meet and greets, special performances and more!”
On top of these promotions, themed days such as Sci-Fi Day (May 14) and Anything But a Cup Night (May 28) occur periodically.
When Can I See a Tower Buzzers Game?
The Tower Buzzers alternate between home series and road series every week, with a new series beginning every Tuesday. Their next return to ONT Field comes April 14 against the Fresno Grizzlies and continues through Sunday, April 19, so there’s plenty of time to make your way to the new field.
The MiLB season runs through September, though, so fans have plenty of time to make their way to Ontario.
Will you be attending an Ontario Tower Buzzers game this season?
