I think that Miami, Washington, Seattle, Arizona and NY Jets all have an equal chance of signing him.

Ok I will break down why we are the best fit.

First I will shoot down the other options and why.

Jets: NO Way....Way to many negatives. Coach is to in your face. The main reason is the weather...He doesn't want to play in the cold.

Washington: That just doesn't make any sense to me...Washington is another cold rainy stadium and at his age I think he wants a good home stadium. Plus the Redskins are a mess really. Yea they beat the Giants, but man they are a 5 win team no matter who is there.

Seattle: the offensive line is worse than ours and the weather again. WR's are spotty at best and that is when they are healthy.

Miami: closest to us but still I think the dome is the key factor. Marshall is too looney.


Arizona BY FAR is the best place. First we have been to the Super Bowl recently. So Peyton sees success. The reason for that Success was a QB!! 2nd we came on strong at the end of the season so he sees talent. We have Fitzgerald!!! We play inside a dome and play the Rams too...so that is 9 guaranteed games inside!! No one offers anything close to that...We have fricken Larry Fitzgerald. Our running game is productive so play action will work. Our coach is low keyed and will give Manning alot of lee way (ie like Warner)...We have a guy name Fitzgerald.

Reports (sirius radio) coming from those who have worked with Manning say he can't throw to his left or across his body & I also heard Polian say his arm strength is only 25 yards.

IMO he's done & not worth the gamble to possibly wait for until 2013 if ever again! How many 37 yr old QBs have ever won a SB?

Thats 25 yards farther than Kolb can throw it while he is on the sideline popping asprin. Even if that report is 100% accurate (which i doubt) I would still take the chance, especially knowing he has 6 months to build up his arm strength.

You guys do realize that by the time the regular season rolls around this season, it wil be 20 months since he's thrown a meaningful NFL pass?

All I know is this, Kolb or Skelton can actually step on the field if the Cards had to play today & #18 can't! Yeah I know...Mannings gonna be healthy at some point, but even Peyton himself doesn't even know that.

Not trying to argue with anyone, JMHO. I just think believing a 37 or even 38 yr old QB whos hurt is going to lead us to a SB title is beyond reality.

With our worthless offensive line I can't say that we are head and shoulders above the other situations. Manning is concerned about getting beat up after this, and Arizona has the worst offensive line of the bunch.

So you are saying that our wide receivers would be coached by someone familiar with Peyton Manning, and Peyton Manning would be coached by someone familiar with our wide receivers? Sounds like an intriguing plan to build chemistry.

Not saying that at all. Simply saying that Reich was Manning's QB coach in 2009 and 2010. Since he worked closely with Manning as a QB coach, he knows all the pre-snap reads and calls, and is logical to teach them to our WR's as a WR coach. He worked with WR's in 2011.

Manning is probably the most capable QB in the league of being his own coach, (much like Warner was when he was here). He already has the knowledge. Our WR's do not. It would seem to make more sense to me to have Reich teach our WR's than McNulty, who would first have to learn the process. McNulty might better be served teaching that to our back-up QB's than our WR's. If Manning is ours, (and is capable of playing), it would be more crucial to have the WR's learn first what Manning already knows. The other QB's will be back-ups. If they get in the game, it won't be the same anyway, and our WR's already know their abilities.

Id rather take a chance on a 37 year old MVP caliber talent who is hurt than a 28 year old bench warmer caliber talent... who is hurt.

The point is, if he doesnt work out we are right back where we were before signing him. There is no risk. We lose Kolb... who gives a crap. We rolled the dice on a player who we know is capable of winning the superbowl when healthy... at the expense of... a few million, a few developmental starts for Skelton? Who cares!

I know....another Manning thread....Hey...you know me...I like beating a dead horse. But anyway...

Mike and Mike this morning just said the team that is really picking up steam and a place where Manning would fit great is Arizona.

Adam Shefter is tweeting that the Reich hire is a big tell.

But the whole scheme of things.... Do you realize how much this would bring to the Arizona Cardinals. I was stoked when we signed Edge a few years ago. I was pretty happy when we signed Warner.

This would be on par or might even surpass signing Fitzgerald to the huge extension. And I love Fitz.

But getting Manning and if he is healthy....WOW!!!!!!!!!! I think it is going to happen.

In fact..I will say it. I guarantee...Manning will be a Cardinal!!!

I think it will be huge for marketing jersey's and little bobbleheads, and huge for ticket sales, but I'm totally concerned about reports coming out that he isn't showing an NFL arm and has a "noodle arm" because of the nerves. Names are good, HOF names even better, but someone who can actually play and throw the ball would be kind of kickass. I hope the people who have seen him throwing are wrong.

Since Manning is my favorite non-Cardinal player since Walter Payton, it does mean I would have to find a new favorite non-Cardinal...I think I could manage.

I recommend Peyton Hillis, just to keep the name continuity....
