One of the most intriguing trades of the NFL offseason was the Buffalo Bills’ acquisition of wide receiver D.J. Moore. While some speculated that the Chicago Bears would release Moore, the Bills instead traded a second-round pick to acquire him. Moore got off to a slow start during offseason activities, but he has one major supporter: Josh Allen.
Allen addressed Moore’s slow start during offseason workouts and again defended him this week. He explained why he believes Moore will become a valuable addition not only to the wide receiver room but to the entire Bills organization.

“I think what DJ’s going to bring to us, obviously veteran leadership,” Allen told reporters. “He’s been in the league as long as I’ve been in the league, and he’s produced at such a high level for the last eight years. Just really getting to know him. We’re locker mates, and to have that relationship that we already have, it’s a pretty seamless fit.”

Allen made it clear that Moore has his full support and said he’s excited to see what the veteran receiver will bring to the team.
“I’m excited to continue to get to work with him. He’s going to be a huge help for us this next season and seasons to come.”

If there’s one voice of support Moore could use as he begins this fresh start, it’s Allen’s. Their chemistry and ability to make plays in 2026 will be critical if the Bills hope to get over the hump. Moore’s big-play ability is exactly what the offense needs, and his veteran experience only adds to his value.

The Bills haven’t had a proven veteran receiver since Stefon Diggs departed. They’ve also lacked a true No. 1 wide receiver. Moore has a chance to change that and could become the best receiver Allen has played with in several seasons.
Buffalo’s season ended in disappointment in Denver last year. Although controversy surrounded the game’s ending, the loss prompted sweeping changes throughout the organization. Joe Brady now takes over as head coach, and the Bills have retooled their roster in hopes of taking the next step.
Will those changes be enough? Can Moore and Allen develop into the dynamic duo that finally leads the Bills to the Super Bowl?
