INDIANAPOLIS – Elkhart’s boys golf team concluded its season on Wednesday with a 13th place finish at the state finals at Carmel’s Prairie View Golf Club.

The Lions finished with a two-day total of 633. Elkhart shot a 316 on day one and a 317 on day two.

Elkhart was making its second straight trip to state. The Lions also finished 13th last year, with their two-day score being a 650.

“We were hoping for a little bit better than that,” said Elkhart coach Todd King about his team’s play this year at state. “But, overall, I’m not disappointed.

“The course showed its teeth (on Wednesday). The last third of the (second) round it rained a bit and it was difficult at times for golfers. But we battled through it.”

For the second straight year, Ben Divido led the way for the Lions. He tied for 12th this week as a sophomore with a four-over par 148. Divido finished with a 77 and then a one-under 71 during the two days. Divido was the top finisher from Northern Indiana.

In 2025, Divido tied for 12th with a 146.

Elkhart also got a solid showing this week from freshman Brenden Divido – Ben’s younger brother. Brenden totaled a 153 and finished tied for 31st.

Other golfers that competed for the Lions were junior Cameron Miller (168), sophomore Ryan Molyneaux (169) and senior Nathan Windy (175).

Westfield’s Hudson Kutchman was the medalist with a 142. He won a two-hole playoff tie-breaker over Guerin Catholic’s Eli Wessel.

Westfield edged Center Grove for the team title, as the Shamrocks totaled a 592 and beat the Trojans by a stroke. It’s the second straight state title for Westfield.
