After a sluggish first quarter, Wilson turned it on and defeated Mechanicsburg 50-33 in the quarterfinals of the District 3 Class 6A girls basketball tournament on Thursday night at West Lawn.
The fourth-seeded Bulldogs (25-2) advance to play top-seeded Red Lion in the semifinals on Monday at Red Lion.
Wilson, the fourth seed, led 7-6 after the first quarter, but outscored the Wildcats 13-11 for a 20-17 halftime lead. The Bulldogs broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Mechanicsburg, the fifth seed, 15-7.
Laila Jones led Wilson with 14 points and Laura Crocona had 13, all in the second half.
Red Lion beat Cedar Cliff 32-30 on Thursday night.
• In another 6A quarterfinal, Dallastown defeated Gov. Mifflin 63-35.
The Mustangs (18-7) drop down to the consolation bracket.
Ja’Tiyah Case led Gov. Mifflin with 11 points.
