Detroit Tigers catcher Darren Dingler was dissed.

A leader is several MLB metrics, including WAR and fielding runs value, Dingler on Friday failed to qualify for Phase 2 of the 2026 All-Star Game voting process, eliminating his chances to start the July 14 midseason classic in Philadelphia.

Dingler, who received 924,766 votes, placed third during the catchers' Phase 1 round, losing out to the Athletics' Shea Langeliers and Toronto's Alejandro Kirk, who batted .191 in 13 games and registered a minus-0.1 WAR.

Still, Kirk received 564,022 more votes than Dingler, one of the vote count's big losers.

The Tigers' backstop also paced first among his peers with a plus-nine fielding runs value.

Phase 2 voting begins Monday and ends July 2. The All-Star Game's starting lineups will be announced July 4.

Don't look for Dingler, despite being one of two hitters to collect at least 19 home runs, 55 RBI and a .540 slugging percentage, joining Houston's Yordan Alvarez.
