Ivorian forward Yan Diomande has joined Leipzig’s pre-season camp as expected. He returns from his post-World Cup break. Diomande participated in the mandatory fitness and performance tests on Monday. In the meantime, advance negotiations continue between Real Madrid and Leipzig over the player’s transfer to the Spanish capital.

Florian Plettenberg reported late on Monday that the negotiations have not been finalized yet and are expected to continue on Tuesday.

“There is still no final agreement between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig for Yan Diomande. Confirmed by all parties involved,” Plettenberg posted on X.

“Unless something extraordinary happens before midnight, negotiations will continue tomorrow morning.

RB are demanding at least €120 million, with a very high guaranteed fee. Today’s main sticking point was Real’s complex and difficult-to-achieve bonus structure. Deal still on.”

Sky Sports reporter Philipp Hinze reported earlier on Monday that, “Real Madrid’s 2nd bid for Diomande (€110-115m all in) has not been rejected yet. A deal worth around €120m is seen as realistic, but further talks are needed over the structure. RB Leipzig want a higher guaranteed fee. They want to avoid a deal with high, unrealistic performance-related bonuses. Discussions are also ongoing over whether to include a sell-on clause in the agreement.”

“No final breakthrough yet, but Leipzig expect the deal to be completed soon. Leganés are set to receive 5-8% via a sell-on clause. Diomande remains in training with Leipzig, awaiting the green light,” he added.
