Different thought process on the first rounders

I was just sitting here thinking about yesterday, and I don't know if anyone else has brought this up, but does anyone out there think that with the previous years holdouts and the impression that the Cards can never get the picks in on time, that maybe signability came into the equation when it came to the Johnson and Pace picks?
