Diego Simeone plans to make Lamine Yamal ‘most uncomfortable’ in Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was asked about Lamine Yamal ahead of Tuesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg between the two sides.

Yamal heads into the game after scoring his first career hat-trick against Villarreal on Saturday in La Liga, and Simeone says he wants to make the teenager’s night “uncomfortable.”

“He’s an individually very good player, especially unpredictable in the final stages of the game,” he told reporters.

“We’ll have to take advantage of the opportunity he gives us in attack to attack down that side, so we have to force him into the position where he feels most uncomfortable, which is defending.”

Barcelona will need Yamal to be at his best at Camp Nou. He spoke after the win over Villarreal about how he’s playing with a smile on his face again after putting his injury issues behind him.

The teenager also spoke about Barca’s chances of a comeback: “Now let me tell our fans… …come to the stadium against Atléti, the magic can happen.”
