Barring a 1-15 or 2-14 season, I don't think Wilks's job is in jeopardy; and even then, that's a stretch. I think the FO and coaching staff had a wake-up call last month that this team wasn't a playoff contender; but rather, a team in rebuild. The only people whose jobs are on the line are the coordinators, particularly McCoy.

if that is truly the case--

then it was Keims choice (obvs) -- and it seems that is just breaking a fundamental rule

I do remember that in the Whisenhunt search -- MB and SK really liked McCoy, but he took the SD job, which make them move on to consider Arians ( and in fairness, it took a convo between Whis and Arians to get him to consider the Cards as well)

This reminds me of how MB kept Clancy Pendergast as the DC when Whisenhunt was hired. Maybe history is repeating itself as far as the owner overstepping his boundaries?
