New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry was not named on ESPN’s top 10 NFL tight ends of 2026 list, determined by votes from league executives, coaches and scouts. However, he might have deserved recognition among his peers at the position.
Henry had a career year in 2025, where he went for 768 receiving yards and seven touchdowns with the Patriots. He helped New England reach the Super Bowl as the team’s second-leading receiver and was continually a reliable option for Drake Maye to look to in critical moments of games last season.
Based on what he showed in 2025, Henry holds up against the best in the league at his position and has merit to be named a top-10 tight end, despite the field being rather competitive.
Moving forward, the 31-year-old Henry will play in a crowded offense next season that may limit the extent to which he will be able to increase his statistical output. Nevertheless, another season with a similar impact on the offense in New England may elevate him from just receiving votes to being a top 10 honoree.
