Charlie Woods rallied but fell just shy of making the cut on Friday at Florida's 109th Amateur Championship in Jupiter.
Woods, a rising senior at the Benjamin School and son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, shot 75 (3-over) on June 12 in the second round at The Dye Preserve Golf Club. He closes the tournament 11-over and missed the cut by four strokes.
He entered the day tied for 112th after shooting 8-over in the first round. He appeared to be in deep trouble after opening the second round with back-to-back bogeys but he rallied with four birdies in a five-hole span at the turn.
Woods kept himself within a shot of the projected cut line, which hovered at 7-over in the early afternoon. Back-to-back bogeys on No. 13 and 14 spoiled momentum, however, and he was unable to get inside the cut line.
Last year, Woods made the cut and finished the four-day tournament 18-over par and tied for 66th at the BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens.
The Amateur Championship is a 72-hole stroke play tournament hosted annually by the Florida State Golf Association. Rounds will be played at the The Dye Preserve and The Club at Admiral's Cove in Jupiter.
The tournament was first hosted in 1915 and is the oldest continuous sporting event in Florida. Former champions include 1976 U.S. Open winner Jerry Pate.
Here's a look at how some of Palm Beach County's top junior and collegiate golfers are faring after two rounds:

While Woods did not qualify for the 2026 U.S. Open, he did play a supporting role in another elite junior golfer's qualification.
Jacksonville Beach's Miles Russell, a fellow Florida State commit who shares an agent with Woods, qualified for the 2026 U.S. Open in a 3-for-2 sudden death playoff on Monday in Palm Beach Gardens. Woods was on the bag for Russell as his caddy in the 36-hole qualifying event.
Russell initially said he hoped Woods would be on his bag as caddie at the U.S. Open, which is scheduled for June 18-21 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York.
On Frida, Russell announced his swing coach Ramon Bescansa would be on the bag for his major championship debut.
Woods is currently ranked No. 152 in the latest American Junior Golf Association Rolex Rankings.
He dropped more than 135 places places after the conclusion of his most recent event: a tied for 28th place finish at the Team TaylorMade Invitational.
With the turn of the calendar, Woods' breakthrough win at the 2025 Team TaylorMade Invitational, his first at an AJGA event, dropped off the list of events contributing to his ranking. His top result is now a tied for ninth finish at the Boys Junior PGA Championship in July 2025.
