The Diamondbacks wrap up a road trip to St. Louis and Tampa Bay with a Sunday, June 28, game against the Rays at Tropicana Field, then head home for two series.
Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, coming off another strong performance on Tuesday, June 23, in which he threw 6 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, gets the start against the Rays in the finale of the series.
The Diamondbacks, hovering around the .500 mark for the greater part of the past three weeks, start the homestand Monday, June 24, against the San Francisco Giants, a team they've dominated this season. Arizona is 6-0 against the Giants this season with series sweeps at home and away.
The Giants have dealt with some distractions in June. A Pride Night controversy in which players wore Bible verses on specially made caps with a rainbow-colored logo and were roundly criticized but never punished by Major League Baseball for their protest made headlines.
Then, the underperforming Rafael Devers, in a game at Miami, was seen waving his finger in a "no" gesture, apparently trying to send pinch runner Jonah Cox back to the dugout after a move was announced. Devers eventually gave in and came out of the game, but the situation raised some questions about discontent among the players.
After the Giants series June 29-July 1, the Milwaukee Brewers make their lone 2026 visit to Chase Field July 3-5.
The Brewers held a six-game lead over the rest of the field in the National League Central going into games on June 24. Milwaukee's pitching had been outstanding. The Brewers had the lowest team earned run average and the most strikeouts as a team in the major leagues as of June 24.
Starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski was a late addition to the All-Star Game last season, a move by MLB that drew backlash because "The Miz" had appeared in only a few games when he was named to the roster. But he's earned the right to be strongly considered this season.
The Diamondbacks lost two of three games to the Brewers earlier this season, giving up a combined 26 runs in those two defeats.
The games against Milwaukee on July 3 and 4 (6:45 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.) will feature a postgame fireworks show.
