The Diamondbacks finish a six-game homestand on Sunday, May 10, against the New York Mets, then head out on the road again for six games, three in Arlington, Texas, against the Rangers and three in Denver against the Colorado Rockies.
Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (3-0, 2.50) gets the start for the Diamondbacks in the finale against the Mets. Rodriguez is coming off a standout performance May 5, in which he shut out the Pirates through seven innings.
The road trip begins with no day off for the Diamondbacks, who on Monday, May 11, start a three-game series against the Rangers. Texas is in the thick of an underachieving American League West race, where only one team, the Athletics, was above .500 when play began on Wednesday, May 6.
The Rangers are led on offense by third baseman Josh Jung and outfielder Brandon Nimmo. The Texas bullpen, despite several injuries, has been solid this season, even in the absence of a big name.
The Rangers are without second baseman Josh Smith and outfielder Wyatt Langford, both on the injured list. Game times are 5:05 p.m. Arizona time on May 11, 12 and 13, before a day off on May 14.
The Rockies had yet to win in May entering May 7. They are just the third NL West opponent for the Diamondbacks this season, but the series from May 15-17 is the first three games of 13 consecutive against division opponents, the Rockies and San Francisco Giants.
Colorado's Mickey Moniak had 11 home runs on the season as of May 5, and Jake McCarthy, a longtime former Diamondbacks outfielder, will face his former team as an everyday player for Colorado.
The games in Denver are 5:40 p.m. Arizona time on May 15, then back-to-back 12:10 p.m. starts on May 16 and 17.
