The Diamondbacks conclude a six-game road trip on Sunday, June 14, in Cincinnati, with right-hander Zac Gallen on the mound looking for his first win since May 23.
Then it is back to Phoenix for six games, three against the struggling Los Angeles Angels June 15 to 17 and three with the Minnesota Twins June 19-21, a weekend full of fan giveaways.
The Diamondbacks are 21-23 all-time against the Angels and lost a three-game series to them in Anaheim last season, with just one win. The Angels sat squarely at the bottom of the American League West standings as of June 10, 16 games under .500 with the worst record in the American League.
But the Angels do have some intrigue. Three players are in double figures in home runs despite low .200s batting averages: Mike Trout, Zach Neto and Jo Adell.
The list of Angels injuries is long, but the team does have an ace starting pitcher in right-hander José Soriano, who led the team with seven wins as of June 10.
The Twins lost seven of eight games in late April and five in a row to end May, from which they haven't been able to recover. Their pitching has been a major issue this season, with a 4.69 team ERA going into June 10 games, 26th in all of Major League Baseball.
Outfielder Byron Buxton was nearing 20 home runs as of June 10 and is the offensive catalyst for Minnesota. The Diamondbacks have lost six of their last nine games against the Twins.
Game times for the week against the Angels are 6:40 p.m. MST on June 15 and 16 and 12:40 p.m. on June 17.
Game times against the Twins are 6:45 p.m. on June 19, with a pack of Topps baseball cards for the first 20,000 fans to arrive; 7:10 p.m on June 20, with a Gabriel Moreno soccer jersey giveaway; and 12:15 p.m. on June 21, with a Father's Day polo shirt giveaway for dads.
