Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker offered a short and unexpected response when asked about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, revealing he didn’t tune in to the performance at all.

According to Complex, the moment came during NBA All-Star Weekend media availability in Inglewood, California. A reporter mistakenly referred to Booker as Puerto Rican while bringing up Bad Bunny’s set. Booker quickly corrected the assumption before explaining why he skipped the show altogether.

“I’m Mexican, I didn’t watch it to be completely honest,” Booker said.

The exchange gained traction given the overlapping history between Booker and Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. Both have previously been linked to model and media personality Kendall Jenner, adding another layer of familiarity between the two public figures.

There has also been at least one indirect lyrical reference in the past. On the 2023 track “Coco Chanel,” a collaboration with Eladio Carrión, Bad Bunny delivered a line in Spanish widely interpreted as a subtle jab: “Pero el sol de PR calienta má' que el de Phoenix,” which translates to “But the sun in Puerto Rico is hotter than the one in Phoenix.”

While Booker made it clear he didn’t watch the halftime performance, Jenner was at the Super Bowl and has maintained a friendly dynamic with both Booker and Bad Bunny in recent months. Earlier this year, she and Booker exchanged lighthearted comments on social media during the game, including a playful moment referencing his ankle.

“Come rub it,” Booker replied after Jenner teased him during the interaction.

Jenner has also publicly leaned into her dating history. In a recent Fanatics campaign titled “Bet On Kendall,” she referenced past relationships with high-profile athletes, including Booker, as part of the brand’s rollout.
