The Phoenix Suns have had an impressive campaign in the 2025-26 season. However, they had to play in the Play-In Tournament because they finished the season as the seventh seed.
Unfortunately, they could not match the eighth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers. The Suns re-captured the lead in the fourth quarter, but they had another late-game collapse, which has been a season-long problem.
Devin Booker laments the Suns' late-game collapses this season
In the 2025-26 season, the Suns have surprised a lot of people. They were expected to be a team barely scraping by, especially since Kevin Durant exited the team through a trade.
Despite all those issues and the injuries, the Suns managed to secure the seventh seed. Unfortunately, that is still within the Play-In Tournament spots. Now, another issue that has been plaguing them all season has been their struggles in the clutch, which reared its ugly head against the Blazers.

As the Suns' star, most people know that Booker is the type of player to take over in the clutch. Unfortunately, that did not happen against the Trail Blazers because Shaedon Sharpe defended Booker well.
At the same time, Booker knows that they have some issues, especially with aggression. That was one of the main criticisms of his performance against Portland, as he looked quite passive throughout the fourth quarter.
"That's been the story of the end of our season so far. I think we just need to remain aggressive. I think we get a little lead and slow down. That's not what got us the lead in the first place," Booker said after the loss to Portland.
It is good for Suns fans that Booker knows the problem. He wants to be a game-changer for Phoenix, but he has to showcase why he is the team's star. If he does not show aggression, the team might fall out of the Playoffs entirely.
