The Devils selected center Alexander Command with the No. 12 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft on Friday.
Command, an 18-year-old out of Sweden, spent the last season in his native country and made his debut in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), that nation's highest professional league, dressing for six games.
He also appeared with Orebro at the U20 level in the Nationell, where in 30 regular-season games he led the team with 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists). In 14 postseason games, he tallied 13 points (five goals, eight assists).
He has experience playing for his country, tallying seven points (three goals, four assists) in seven games and taking home gold at the 2026 U18 World Junior Championship.
New Jersey entered the night with five picks to make: No. 35 and No. 44 in the second round, No. 140 in the fifth, and No. 172 in the sixth.
