The Detroit Lions have set an interesting tone this offseason, and that continued on Thursday night with the team’s official schedule release video. While the day has become a platform for each NFL team’s video production departments to spend their budgets and display their creativity, the Lions went in the opposite direction this year.

With a post on Twitter that was captioned “Strictly business,” the Lions shared a video that features Dan Campbell sitting at his computer. He quietly stares at his scoreen while a swell of talking head voices takes over the audio. It’s a bunch of NFL analysts talking about the Lions’ future, presenting a ton of doubts about the franchise.

“He’ll look at the fact that he lost a lot of key players,” one commenter says.

“Can this defense stay healthy?” says another.

“They have a lot of big decisions to make as a franchise.”

Then a bunch of analysts talk about Detroit’s Super Bowl window either being closed or closing.

As the voices swell, Campbell wordless grabs a piece of paper, walks away from his office, and pins the Lions 2026 schedule to a corkboard outside his office. The voices stop.

That’s it.

The message is clear and powerful: no funny business. We’re all about the work and getting back to what we do well.

That fits within the overall message of the Lions’ offseason. Right after their disappointing 9-8 year, finishing last in the NFC North, both Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes spoke about how they intended to dissect every single one of their processes and see where they could improve.

“You always have to evolve,” Holmes said. “You have to evolve and when you don’t get the desired results, you’ve got to just look at everything.”

Apparently those changes include sending a message from the top-down that 2025 won’t happen again.

What do you think of the schedule release video? Did they blow an opportunity for some fun, or do you dig the down-to-business message?
