After revealing its preseason opponents during the NFL schedule release, the Detroit Lions shared finalized dates and kickoff times for its 2026 preseason schedule.
Here's a look at the Lions' full 2026 preseason slate:
Lions head coach Dan Campbell revealed at the NFL's annual league meetings that Detroit was nixing joint practices this year.
That could pave the way for the preseason to take on greater importance for the Lions in 2026.
"I felt like we got two really good years of it, man. Like, we're really getting something out of this. And then as it kind of went on, we got into that third year, whatever that was, or 2024, I don't know, it just felt counterproductive.
"It didn't feel like we were getting what I thought we would get out of it and part of me was like, I think we would have gotten more... we'd have gotten an extra practice and we'd have gotten more done had we just gone against ourselves," Campbell said of eliminating joint practices in 2026.
Campbell said it could mean that Lions starters get more work in the preseason.
"Maybe we play some of these guys in the preseason more than we have," Campbell said. "That's where they get some of it."
Next up on the Lions' offseason calendar are OTAs from May 27-29, June 2-4 and June 9-11. Detroit's mandatory minicamp is set for June 16-17.
