Ole Miss has poached another player from Mississippi State. Denim DeShields committed to the Rebels on Monday, joining forward Debreasha Powe in defecting to MSU’s chief rival.
A 5-foot-5 guard, DeShields played in all 34 games for the Bulldogs last season, averaging 5.7 points and 3.2 assists while shooting 34.2% from the field.
Ole Miss will be her third school. DeShields began her collegiate career at UAB and played two seasons there. She averaged 13.2 points and 5.0 assists per game for the Blazers during that span.
DeShields is the eighth player MSU has lost to the transfer portal. The Bulldogs have picked up two players, including Kharyssa Richardson from Ole Miss.
The Rebels have now snagged seven transfers while losing four.
