UNC will be looking for a new point guard for next season. Derek Dixon, who entered his name into the transfer portal last week, has committed to the University of Arizona and Tommy Lloyd. The freshman averaged 6.5 points per game and led the Tar Heels in assists after he wrestled the starting point guard spot away from Kyan Evans.


Michael Malone will be looking for point guard help in the transfer portal after Dixon’s commitment to Arizona and the news that UNC decided to part ways with incoming freshman Dylan Mingo. Mingo originally committed to Hubert Davis, but was back in Chapel Hill late last week to meet with the new staff. It seems like maybe they were not on the same page.

The Tar Heels have been connected to Utah point guard Terrence Brown. He averaged 19.9 points per game and shot 45% from the field for the Utes last season. Brown visited UNC earlier today. 247 sports ranks him as the eighth best combo guard available in the transfer portal.
