Dennis Schroder Anyone?

He is definitely not happy in ATL and he would fit the need of PGOTF at only 24 years old. Not that great of a shooter and ins't exactly the biggest PG but he might not cost a lot in a potential trade, maybe #16 & #31 and an expiring for ATL. Most potential deals I see mentioned for Schroder are a young, unproven PG's plus a mid round pick.

Not quite sure how much of a headache he would be. He is pretty much trying to force his way out of ATL and got into some legal trouble back in March with a assault charge in a hookah bar.

I liked Schroder before he got into trouble. The Suns do not need this kind of trouble. I do like his talent though. Payton would be the better choice.

For the right price you could just wait around for him to mature. But he's such a me-first, me-only player that I wouldn't be able to stomach having to watch him on the Suns.

I'd rather see the Suns try to bring back the 3 headed PG by trading for Bledsoe and Dragic and signing IT than going after Schroeder. We could even hire Hornacek as a special assistant in charge of keeping the 3 PG's happy. He could take them to castles and coasters on off days to build chemistry and boost morale. Just got to make sure to send him with plenty of ones so he could bribe ride attendants to let IT on all of the rollercoasters.

I thought his contract was worse than it was but it's still not great. Maybe it's meant to be though, it is the same as Bledsoe and Knight. It appears he signed the "Not quite a max player but also not quite a PG" Phoenix Suns special for 4 years/$70 million. He has 3 years and $45 million left on it.

He's significantly worse than Bledsoe (who's actually a pretty good player despite his rep here)... and probably Knight too (who's rep here is well earned).

He is a really inefficient offensive player (19 points on 17 shots is pretty freaking terrible), he is an awful outside shooter, he does nothing to make his teammates better and he is an absolutely putrid defender.

One thing I don't get about the NBA is the continued playing time given to players who actively make their team worse on both ends on a consistent basis. Typically these guys are "good" on offense... because they score points, but really, they only score because they gobble up shots.

Dennis Schroder's "best" ability is his scoring. He had an effective FG% of 47%... the worst TEAM in the league in that stat posted a 53% mark. His "strength" is something he's actually freaking teeeeeeerrible at when compared to the league average. His only calling card is that he's a ball hog.

Also, he seems to be bad news off the court.

15 million for a guy who doesn't do anything on defense, who takes up a ton of possessions and does nothing to help his teammates and who is one of the least effective shooters in the league.

Seriously, if that is the player who he is... I wouldn't take him as a volunteer. Even if he PAID his way onto the roster I wouldn't want him to play unless we were tanking. He is 2012/13 Beasley level terrible.

Players like that get pushed by teams like the Hawks because they show something when they're a backup, become fan favorites, and idiot owners push for them to be featured so they want the older vet's shipped out so guys like Schroeder can be given a chance and by the time the team commits to them, they don't have much around them anymore. Plus they think they're a star by that point because they're paying them like one so they keep them in for 40 minutes a night.

Atlanta has been run horribly for years now and that's why Budenholzer finally left. He had a playoff team with Horford, Millsap, Korver, Carroll, and Teague with Schroeder coming in off the bench and providing decent D for them but they sold off all off all of their valued players because they couldn't beat Lebron so what's the point in keeping them. It's the East. I'm grateful the Suns are in the west where things may be tough but teams don't fold up shop because 1 player is viewed as the gatekeeper for all of the teams out there.

Schroder should be expendable for everyone. He's a total disaster on both ends of the court. He's Brandon Knight... except paid more and worse at shooting and defending.

I wouldn't trade Troy Daniels for Schroeder. I wouldn't trade Knight for him either. His contract is too large and has too many years left. There is a reason they're giving up on him in Atlanta.
