He's going have to work his tail off to keep his weight down and stay in football shape. PFW had him going as a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Good luck to him. Should be interesting to see what develops!

At the same time, we definitely needed someone north of 310 lbs to back up Dumpster Dan. Talley was doing yeoman work, but only weighed 286. More physical blockers were pushing us all over the field in preseason, and the danger was that we'd get blacktopped late in games.

So we needed to bring in a bulkier dude. Question is: Is Ta'amu big, very strong and productive? Or is he just a humongous fat guy who'll wear down in games, have knee problems and/or have cardio issues.

At least on paper, we made the appropriate move - so long as the dude avoids the logical problems and gets the job done.
