Jul. 8—WATERTOWN — The Renner Monarchs (Class A) and Dell Rapids PBR (Class B) continue to hold down top spots in the latest South Dakota Amateur Baseball Poll released on Wednesday, July 8.

Notably, the Renner Monarchs are the No. 1 team in Class A but have forfeited six games from earlier in the season due to using an ineligible player, moving the Monarchs' record to 7-6 on the season. No. 2 Brookings, No. 3 Harrisburg, No. 4 Yankton and the No. 5 Sioux Falls Brewers continue to fill out the top-five positions.

In Class B, the top-five positions remain the same, with Dell Rapids PBR ranked at No. 1 for the fourth consecutive week. Alexandria has stayed at No. 2 for a second week in a row, followed by No. 3 Dell Rapids Mudcats, No. 4 Canova Gang and No. 5 Castlewood Ravens. Tabor moved into the top-10 in a tie for eighth, while the Platte Killer Tomatoes dropped out of the top-10. The Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks reached a season-high of No. 7 in the Class B poll this week.

The South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association commissioners and select representatives of the South Dakota media covering amateur baseball vote on the rankings.

Here is the complete poll through July 6 games:

Class A — 1. Renner Monarchs (7-6); 2. Brookings Cubs (11-1); 3. Harrisburg Woodies (16-3); 4. Yankton Lakers (17-2); 5. Sioux Falls Brewers (4-7). Receiving votes: Aberdeen Circus (9-2).

Class B — 1. Dell Rapids PBR (11-2); 2. Alexandria Angels (11-2); 3. Dell Rapids Mudcats (8-5); 4. Canova Gang (11-4); 5. Castlewood Ravens (7-2); 6. Parkston Mudcats (10-5); 7. Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks (10-4); T8. Redfield Dairy Queen (7-1), T8. Tabor Bluebirds (7-4); T10. Elk Point Colt 45s (n/a), T10. Kimball/White Lake Nationals (9-0). Receiving votes: Platte Killer Tomatoes, Parkston Rays, Lake Norden Lakers, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks and Volga Cormorants.
