NFL legend DeAndre Hopkins has taken a new position since his one-day stint with the New England Patriots.
The Georgia Tech football program announced that Hopkins was taking a role as an assistant wide receivers coach with the school. They posted the announcement on social media on Friday.
Hopkins recently reconnected with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel to help with assistant coaching at the start of training camp. Both Hopkins and Vrabel worked together while they were with the Tennessee Titans. It was an opportunity for the veteran wideout to come in, lend some pointers and see the Patriots' coaching process up close.
Hopkins made it clear on social media that he isn't retired from playing football. He merely seems to be shifting his focus to coaching for the time being, until the right NFL opportunity opens up.
"I Haven’t retired from the NFL ... But if you're a WR and you want to be great, come to GeorgiaTechFB," Hopkins posted on X on Saturday.
