The Los Angeles Dodgers are beginning to recover after an injury-riddled May forced the hand of Dave Roberts and Co. to shift gears.

Though it had not deterred their place in the standings (first place in the National League West), some key infielders and outfielders are making strides towards their return.

The first slated to return to a Dodgers uniform is Tommy Edman. He is expected to be activated off the Injured List on Tuesday and be in the starting lineup on Wednesday, according to the Dodgers skipper.

He added that a move will be transpiring with the return of Edman looming, but that decision will be made on Tuesday night.

Edman had been recovering from an offseason ankle injury and prolonged leaps delayed his rehab assignments. He just completed his last rehab stint over the weekend with Triple-A Oklahoma City, in which he cycled back from second base and centerfield.

Roberts said that they will still ramp up the 31-year-old slowly -— having him play three to four times a week -— but will man second base, third base and left field once he returns.

He added that it will be interesting to see how Edman fits into the already robust infield situation the Dodgers have put forth.

"It's hard because I don't know when Teo [Hernández] is going to come back, but he's going to need to be spelled. I like getting Max [Muncy] and an off day here and there. Then, also obviously, with second base with Miggy [Rojas] over there too... and [Alex] Freeland. So, it'll be interesting, but yeah, he's going to be moved around a little bit, Roberts said.

Speaking of Hernández, Roberts said that the 33-year-old outfielder has been "coming along well" and hopes that he could go on a rehab assignment this weekend.

"I think just making sure that his swing is back so we can pick up where we left off," Roberts said.

Kiké Hernández is "making a lot of strides" and has been participating in baseball activities, but will need some more time considering his torn left oblique.

On the pitching side, Edwin Díaz has also been progressing well and is slated to throw a bullpen later on this week. Roberts still does not know a specific time for a return, but added that he's been recovering quickly.

Blake Snell has been throwing and playing catch, but Roberts does not know when he'll face live hitters.

On the flip side, Tyler Glasnow has not made any sort of progress.

"Still just kind of hanging in there," Roberts said. "Not really any progress."
