Dave Portnoy admits Caitlin Clark’s wasn’t up to the mark against the Las Vegas Aces.

On most nights, Caitlin Clark is outright the best player on the court, but that wasn’t the case during the Indiana Fever’s 86-84 OT defeat against the Las Vegas Aces.

Clark had a cold shooting night and missed crucial free throws during the dying minutes of the game. To make things worse, Clark had 8 turnovers, including the one that led to Chelsea Gray’s eventual game-winner in OT.

Dave Portnoy praises himself after criticizing Caitlin Clark​

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is one of the most vocal supporters of the Fever star. However, even Portnoy couldn’t defend Clark’s underwhelming performance against the Aces.

Portnoy somewhat criticized Clark in his own unique way in a now-viral X post.

“Caitlin Clark didn’t play great tonight. 2 huge missed free throws down the stretch and a huge turnover at the end of OT. No excuses. She s_____,” Portnoy wrote on X.

“That’s the beauty of me. I always answer the bell good, bad, or indifferent. Need more leaders taking accountability like I just did,” Portnoy added.

Being a diehard supporter of Clark, many expected Portnoy to find an excuse to defend the Fever star’s off-night.

But Portnoy surprised many with his criticism of Clark, but of course, he found a way to make it controversial by explaining the ‘beauty’ of his act.
