Davante Adams has a lot of connections in the NFL. He played on three teams before he signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2025, and a few solid players could be open to switching teams this offseason.
A few of those players are currently on the Las Vegas Raiders, where Adams played from 2022 to midway through 2024. And while Adams mentioned to Kay Adams he still talks to his old teammates, like star defensive end Maxx Crosby and receiver Tre Tucker, he isn't actively recruiting them to come to L.A.
"I've been in his ear a little bit this year," Adams quipped. "Just kind of checking in on my guy."
Why not? Well, Adams joked that the tape the Rams show is enough to entice anyone to join him.
“The recruiting is what we’re doing, what we put on tape every week," Adams said. These guys are definitely seeing what we’re doing. I don’t sign checks and I don’t make decisions but we’re doing our job over here by what we’re putting on tape to make it appetizing to want to come join us. That’s my recruiting.
Adams, meanwhile, was heavily recruited by head coach Sean McVay before he signed with the team this past offseason. The pitch worked, as Adams signed before free agency officially kicked off after being waived by the New York Jets. While Adams didn't have a career year in L.A., he still led the league with 14 receiving touchdowns despite missing three games with an injury.
Now, Crosby and Tucker aren't unrestricted free agents this offseason, so the Rams would have to trade for either to bring them to L.A., but the Raiders will have a new head coach in 2026 and the No. 1 overall pick, meaning some players may ask for a change of scenary.
We'll see if the Adams effect can work its charm during the 2026 offseason.
