Oklahoma City and the Lakers opened a best-of-seven series in the NBA Western Conference playoffs semifinals on Tuesday. The Thunder won Game 1, 108-90, at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Former Vol Dalton Knecht played two minutes for Los Angeles in Game 1. He did not convert his only field attempt.

LeBron James led the Lakers in scoring with 27 points, Deandre Ayton was Los Angeles' leader for rebounds (12). Chet Holmgren led the Thunder in scoring with 24 points.

Game 2 between the Lakers and Thunder is scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 p.m. EDT at Oklahoma City.

Knecht was selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft (No. 17) by the Lakers.

He transferred to Tennessee from Northern Colorado and played for the Vols during the 2023-24 season under head coach Rick Barnes.

During his one season at Tennessee, Knecht averaged 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He led the Vols to a SEC regular-season championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for a second time in school history.
