Denver Broncos rookie tight end Dallen Bentley identifies a lot with All-Pro left tackle Garett Bolles. Now, they are on the same team, at the same time.
Bentley and Bolles both started playing collegiate football at Snow College in Utah, before transferring to the University of Utah. But their bond doesn't end there. Bentley and Bolles both served two-year missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the state of Colorado; Bolles spent his time in Colorado Springs and the southern part of the state, while Bentley served in the heart of the state: Denver, Aurora and Parker, among other locations.
"Me and Bolles have the same pathway (in football,)" Bentley said after being drafted by the Broncos. "We actually both served a mission here as well, so it’s a full-circle [moment], which is pretty sweet. [At] Snow College, you just have to take every opportunity that you can to get better. It’s something that I take a lot of pride in. Just come into work every single day and finding those little things that I can improve on and it’ll pay off eventually.”
Bentley, a seventh-round draft pick (256th overall) in the 2026 NFL draft, will have to earn his way onto the roster behind the likes of Evan Engram, Lucas Krull, Adam Trautman, fifth-round pick Justin Joly, not to mention former Utah teammate Caleb Lohner, who has made a massive impression on head coach Sean Payton.
Bentley recently completed rookie minicamp and he'll now look forward to OTAs in early June.
