The Dallas Cowboys' roster is largely set for the upcoming 2026 NFL season.

However, it's not too late for them to bolster the defense with a veteran addition before the season's start.

Cowboys named logical landing spot for Bobby Wagner

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently named the Cowboys as a logical landing spot for 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner, who is still an extremely productive player, even at 36 years old.

As such, he could be a nice addition for a Dallas defense with a dearth of depth at the linebacker position.

"It always feels like there's at least one NFL star who can successfully stiff-arm Father Time until he's finally ready to call it a career. We're used to it being quarterbacks, but linebacker Bobby Wagner, who turned 36 last month, has shown no signs of slowing down," Knox wrote.

". . . At this stage in his career, Wagner would make the most sense for a team seeking both talent and experience on its defense and with enough overall talent to make a strong push for the postseason."

Given his still-productive play, Wagner will likely have several suitors interested in his services. It remains to be seen if Dallas will actually pursue him, but Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is a noted fan of Wagner. The two previously spent time together in Seattle.

"You're looking at one of the biggest Bobby Wagner fans in the world. Being in Seattle with him for three years and watching him compete and just talk trash in a good way, I love that guy," Schottenheimer said of Wagner earlier this offseason.

"And he's still playing at a high level. So we'll see how everything works out. It's an exciting time of year, but Bobby Wagner, total stud."

Wagner to Dallas would make a lot of sense. Let's see if it happens.
