JC gets pulled after 6.1 innings with 2 hits and no walks. Immediately he loses the win from the bullpen. Prior to the second hit he had retired 18 in a row. 81 pitches, I get we are saving him, but for what?

It will be interesting to see if tomorrow's articles for the fans explain why he was removed, not for a pinch-hitter, but in the middle of an inning of a tie game.

Steve, BB and even Brandon Webb visiting with them during the game openly questioned why Gibson removed The Tomahawk after only 81 pitches. He motioned for a reliever even before he reached the mound.

Good think I wasn't in the booth with them. I would've said that Kirk Gibson doesn't have a clue! For whatever reason, he is drawn to the Dark Side.

Stupid move to pull Collmenter there... They still get the W while putting up a whopping 3 hits! Wow...

Jake needed that. What a clutch grand slam.

Our first five hitters received 8 bases on balls. They were clearly pitching around the top of the batting order.

The last four positions received none. Jake made them pay.

Somebody better work on his swing... Way too long and slow. He keeps his hands a mile behind his body while in his stance. Definitely not a swing that is built to last...

You're right, and Steve and BB have pointed that out. Jake's stance is similar to Peralta's. All they have to do is tweak it.

With our current Coaching staff :deadhorse2:, is that really going to happen? Don't bet on it.

Anyone else going to the game today? Should be fun with the alumni game afterwards.

I see that we are playing our new OF today, Nolan Reimold. He has a history of injuries, but he is a slugger.

I see also that he is batting 8th. Why? Batting him in front of the pitcher is going to get him very little to hit. Why set him up to fail?

"Welcome to the D-backs. We're going to put you into an extraordinary situation to see what you can do in an ordinary situation."

You wouldn't play him out of position at SS. Bat him ahead of Hill for his introductory game. Give him a chance for cripes sake. It is not like we are playing for playoff position.

Kirk Gibson, the manager who is out of touch with the basic definition of a manager in any organization -- make it easier for your people to do well.

It pisses me off. Funny. I just got it off my chest and don't feel any better about it. :)

It would have been nice if the D-backs, after all that hype about the Alumni game, would have televised it as they did last year for the fans at home to enjoy.

Maybe Mark Grace, grabbing the microphone last year to say, "I'm baaaaack.", put the whammy on it.

'Bad public relations by the D-backs! Hype the 3-inning game all during the Rockies game, then stiff the fans.

There is one thing worse than no public relations. It is bad public relations. The curse of Kevin Towers seems to be spreading throughout the organization.

'Guess they had the shift on all night. Maybe they're trying to convince Inciarte that they didn't really take the position away from him. :)

At least they didn't take the leadoff spot away. After a slow start, he is a classic leadoff hitter. The question is . . . what will his role be next season? LF? 4th outfielder?

If Trumbo has really had to stop being a power hitter to improve his performance, we don't need him in a position he can't play once Goldy comes back to 1B.
