CT native Mac Forehand 1 of 3 Americans to qualify for men's slopestyle final at Winter Games

U.S. freeskier and former Connecticut resident Mac Forehand qualified for the men's slopestyle final with a sixth-place effort Saturday morning at Livigno Snow Park at the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy.

Forehand was one of three Americans to advance, along with 2022 Olympic gold medalist Alex Hall, and Konnor Ralph. Hall was eighth and Ralph 10th. The slopestyle final is Tuesday morning at 6:30 ET.

Forehand, skiing in his second Olympics, also competes in the big air Sunday, Feb. 15.

Forehand, 24, is a resident of Winhall, Vt., but was born in Norwalk and grew up in Fairfield before moving out of state with his family when he was 14 to attend Stratton Mountain School. He has been part of the FK Pro Slopestyle team since 2019.

In the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games, he finished 11th in the big air and 20th in slopestyle.

Since then, Forehand has won four X Games medals, including gold in the big air in 2023, and silver in slopestyle at the 2025 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships.
