Cross country Olympic champion Victoria Carl of Germany remains provisionally suspended following a positive doping test and is likely to miss the 2026 Olympics.

"As things stand at present, she will not be able to take part in the upcoming winter competitions or the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo," the German Ski Association (DSV) said according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.

"I still find it difficult to accept that carelessness and incorrect medical treatment have now shattered my Olympic dream," Carl said.
