The Dallas Cowboys' Week 1 game against the New York Giants was already going to be a little spicy as the NFC East rivals face off to kickstart the season.

But now we have another little storyline to follow, and it's thanks to new Giants coach John Harbaugh and CeeDee Lamb.

The offseason is a time when teams are working tirelessly to improve, and for the Giants, there's a lot of improvement to be made. So too Dallas, but New York, which will welcome the Cowboys to MetLife Stadium, has a little more invested in this game.

But Harbaugh might have just made his first mistake as Giants head coach.

He's given Dallas and Brian Schottenheimer bulletin-board material.

Speaking at a town hall, per Fox Sports, Harbaugh was asked about the Giants' recent struggles, and well, his response started off well, until he decided to bring Dallas into it.

"I could care less about what's happened last year, or the year before that, or ten years before that," Harbaugh said. "If tomorrow's practice is the way it's supposed to be, that'll be one more step in the direction of being a good enough football team to kick the Cowboys' [expletive].”

That is a rather interesting comment to make, considering the Cowboys had won 16 of their last 17 outings against the Giants, with that one loss coming in Week 18 when Dallas rested its starters for the entire second half.

And Harbaugh's comments made it all the way to CeeDee Lamb, who clapped back in potentially the best way possible.

Lamb reposted the video with a brief caption that will make Giants fans feel rather small.

"Lol, that's cute."

And Lamb has a point.

The Giants have been Dak Prescott's bunny, with No. 4 winning 14 straight games against New York, before the loss last year, in which he only played a half, so you can't really count that.

Dak has thrown for 4,346 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and only 9 interceptions against the Giants, so it has been one-way traffic for years.

Of course, that will eventually turn, as the Giants, under Harbaugh, are expected to be vastly improved in 2026.

But the one thing you don't want to do is mouth off like that when your franchise has repeatedly gotten curb-stomped by the team you're talking trash about.

Yes, I get it, Harbaugh wants to start the season with a bang, but I wouldn't poke the bear here, John, because it has all the weaponry to make your home debut a nightmare.
