The first official visit weekend has arrived for Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies coaching staff this weekend, as nearly a dozen prospects are set to descend on Montlake starting Friday afternoon.
One of the few uncommitted targets set to arrive on campus is four-star Peoria (Ariz.) wide receiver Dontay Tyson.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Grand Canyon State native has been a long-time target for Fisch and wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings, as the fifth school to offer Tyson back in January 2025. Of the first dozen schools to offer Tyson, just the Huskies have managed to schedule an official visit, while Texas A&M, which entered the race officially last May, is the only other trip he has planned over the next five weeks.
In early March, the Huskies got Tyson on campus for an unofficial visit for Junior Day, while he also came up to Seattle for the home opener last fall against Colorado State, a 38-21 victory for UW. Less than two months later, the four-star also visited College Station for the Aggies' 31-9 win over Mississippi State, giving each program a solid foundation to head into 2026 with.
Tyson, one of four prospects from Arizona making the trek north this weekend to Seattle, is also one of four uncommitted receivers—IMG Academy four-stars Osani Gayles (June 5-7) and Zion White (June 19-21), plus Pflugerville (Tex.) Weiss four-star Tre Moore (June 19-21)—scheduled to make an official visit to UW between now and the end of June.
Being that the Peoria High School standout is the only one of the four set to arrive this weekend, it gives both Tyson and the Huskies the first shot, and maybe the last should he choose to make a pledge Saturday and not visit Texas A&M.
Over the past three seasons, Tyson has racked up 1,448 receiving yards and 18 touchdown receptions while hauling in 109 catches, according to his MaxPreps player profile, proving to be a dependable target for multi-year starting quarterback Dominic Kramer.
UW has already secured two four-star receivers in the 2027 class, Sumner (Wash.) product Braylon Pope and four-star Desert Edge (Goodyear, Ariz.) speedster Zerek Sidney, which leaves likely one or two—depending on how things shake out on the roster before early signing day in December—spots left for one of the four uncommitted receiver targets to take over the next month.
