What the Los Angeles Rams do in the 2025 NFL draft remains unclear. They've added some pieces in free agency but have some other holes across the roster — mainly when it comes to depth.
The positions the Rams could look to fill haven't changed yet: Cornerback, linebacker and offensive line are crucial concerns with serious depth problems. But one position that Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer believes the Rams should target in the draft is quarterback, as well as cornerback.
This idea tracks, as Rams general manager Les Snead said in a recent news conference that he wants to add a young quarterback to the room "ASAP," but that idea is "easier said than done." The Rams also re-signed Jimmy Garoppolo to be Matthew Stafford's primary backup, which would theoretically push a rookie quarterback to third on the depth chart.
Would Snead want to roster three quarterbacks in a make-or-break season? Who knows. But a few recent mock drafts have the Rams taking Texas quarterbackQuinn Ewers, although his draft position runs from the first to the third round. Another name to watch is Syracuse's Kyle McCord, who could be another Day 3 pick.
Stafford won't be around forever, and head coach Sean McVay's comfortability with Garoppolo should only go so far and may not even extend as far as Rams' starting quarterback. It's never a bad idea to take a swing on rookie quarterback, but it would depend on where that player is taken for it to be worth it for the Rams, or not.

"I could see the Rams taking a quarterback somewhere in the draft, though probably not in the first round," Breer wrote in his weekly mailbag. "I think they’ll be on the lookout for corners going forward—be it in the draft or if there’s some sort of trade opportunity in the months to come. It’s been a while since we’ve seen them really take a big swing … so maybe that’ll come."
