The Los Angeles Rams stunned the NFL world on Monday by acquiring two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in one of the biggest trades of the offseason. The move immediately strengthened a team that was already viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
But now that the dust is beginning to settle, an intriguing question is emerging: could the Rams have another blockbuster move in mind? More specifically, could the arrival of Garrett convince former Rams superstar Aaron Donald to come out of retirement?

The Rams entered the offseason with championship aspirations thanks to an elite roster led by quarterback Matthew Stafford. Adding Garrett only raises expectations.
Widely considered one of the best defensive players in football, Garrett gives Los Angeles a dominant pass rusher capable of taking over games. His presence alone makes the Rams one of the most feared teams in the NFC.
But if the organization wants to dream even bigger, there may be one name worth calling.
Donald retired as one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history.
The former Rams legend won three Defensive Player of the Year awards, a feat accomplished by only a handful of players, and spent his entire career terrorizing opposing offenses. Even at 35 years old, many around the league believe Donald could still be an impact player if he chose to return.
The timing is certainly interesting. Donald has already won a Super Bowl with the Rams, but the opportunity to chase another championship alongside Garrett could be difficult to ignore. Few defensive players ever get the chance to line up next to a talent of Garrett’s caliber.

There is no indication that Donald is actively considering a comeback, but the possibility is fascinating.
A defensive front featuring both Donald and Garrett would instantly become one of the most intimidating units the league has ever seen. Offensive coordinators would have no easy answers for a pair of future Hall of Famers capable of wrecking games from different positions.
For now, it remains speculation. Still, if the Rams make a call, it would not be surprising if Donald at least listened. With Garrett now in Los Angeles and a Super Bowl window wide open, the temptation could be stronger than ever.
