After three picture-perfect days at Augusta National Golf Club, the 89th Masters should get wet again late Thursday night.
The question is: Will it linger into play on Friday morning?
If so, could that delay the second round of the Masters, perhaps forcing players to finish the round on Saturday morning?
According to Accuweather, thunderstorms are expected to arrive in Augusta around midnight, with anywhere between a 50 and 65 percent chance of rain through 3 a.m.
Another line of storms could come through in the 4 o'clock hour, again at a 64 percent chance.
The final shot at rain on Friday is projected around 9 a.m., after the early tee times have begun their rounds.
Following that last line of showers, the winds will pick up the rest of the day, getting up to a steady 20 mph by the afternoon.
There's a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers between midnight and 10 a.m. Friday. Most of the thunderstorm predictions are in the overnight hours.
Lightning spotted in the area would cause a delay of the Masters if it happens after sunrise.
What happens if there is a weather delay at the Masters?
Players and patrons are all asked to evacuate the course at Augusta National in case of a weather delay, usually caused by lightning or heavy rain.
In 2024, the start of the first day of the tournament was delayed by 2½ hours, and the first round was completed Friday morning. By the end of Friday, the tournament was back on schedule.
Augusta National should be bathed in sunshine over the weekend, even if won't be a warm weekend.
Saturday calls for sunshine, light northwest winds and a high of 65 degrees.
Sunday is expected to reach 71 degrees, again with light northwest winds and sunshine.
