Husker fooball opens fall camp in two days (August 5) and you can visit your favorite NFL team site for training camp news. That will have to be enough for your football fix for now but we aren’t far from the point where we start to lament that the season is half-over.

Or, we will be bracing for the November meltdown that has characterized the past two seasons? The Huskers have a new quarterback (assuming Coleandra wins the starting spot), a new defensive coordinator, and a new offensive line coach. Which of these do you think will make the biggest difference?

Then There’s This

A memo from the future
It’s 2069. Congratulations. We’re still alive. If you time traveled here straight from 2025, you wouldn’t recognize the world. You’d find it as radically different as your great-grandfather would find 2025 if he could have teleported to it from the 1930s.

Every so often, I’ll be piloting some sensor-laden, software-defined press car down a dark stretch of highway when an oncoming driver’s high beams arrive like a targeted retinal strike, an involuntary reminder that modern automotive lighting has entered its own lumen arms race.
