Just days before taking on a returning Conor McGregor at UFC 329, opponent and former champion Max Holloway is already thinking about a rematch this year.
McGregor and Holloway headline Saturday's UFC 329 event from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs live on Paramount+.
For Holloway, a win Saturday would allow him to request a fourth fight with "Notorious" to close out the 2026 year.
"I'm going to go in there and put paws on him," Holloway said (thanks to MMA Junkie for the quotes). "I'm going to make him wish that he didn't come back. Actually, no, I'm not going to make him wish that.
"I'm going to make him think he can do it one more time, so we can rematch at the end of the year."
Max Holloway targets fourth fight with Conor McGregor
Holloway lost via decision to McGregor back in 2013, and the two went off on impressive runs after. He is a former featherweight and "BMF" champion, holding multiple UFC records.
This past March, Holloway lost via decision to Charles Oliveira, as he is 27-9 overall and 4-2 in his last six fights.
McGregor is ending a five-year absence from the Octagon to take on Holloway. His last fight came on July 10, 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier after suffering a gruesome leg injury.
The last time McGregor earned an official win inside the Octagon came in 2020 when he stopped Donald Cerrone.
UFC 329 features several key bouts
Along with the main event between McGregor and Holloway, Benoit Saint Denis battles Paddy Pimblett, Cory Sandhagen takes on Mario Bautista, Brandon Royval fights Lone'er Kavanagh and King Green gets Terrance McKinney.
