The draft is the NFL's biggest event, and some two weeks after a fantastic event in Green Bay, the White House and the Commanders are set to reveal big news.

One week after agreeing to a deal to lure the Washington Commanders back to the city, the District of Columbia received more good news—it will host the 2027 NFL draft, a source familiar with the situation confirmed to ESPN on Sunday night via Axios.

The draft will be held in Pittsburgh next year and has become a huge draw. Green Bay attracted more than 600,000 fans for the three-day event last month. Detroit established a record attendance with 750,000 in 2024.

After years spent in New York City, the draft has been a rotating ratings bonanza since 2015.

The Commanders and the city announced a deal on April 28 that would bring the organization back to the stadium site it called home from 1961 to 1996.
