While much of the focus this offseason has been on the players the Washington Commanders have signed, there is also excitement about the players they will get back from injury. Of course, quarterback Jayden Daniels headlines that list, but second-year cornerback is another that new defensive coordinator Daronte Jones can't wait to work with.

Amos was a second-round pick in last year's 2025 NFL Draft. It didn't take long for Amos to make his mark, earning a starting position as a rookie. He appeared in 10 games, making eight starts, and was probably Washington's best cornerback until a broken fibula ended his season in Week 10. In a year where the Commanders lost so many players to injuries, Amos' loss was particularly stinging because of how well he was playing before the injury.

Now, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Amos is penciled in as one of Washington's starting cornerbacks for 2026. But how is recovery from injury going?

According to Amos, he's perfectly fine.

In a recent Instagram Live, a fan asked Amos about his leg. Here's his response:

"Leg's going good, man, for real, for real," Amos said. "I just left a workout nearly five minutes ago."

This is terrific news for Washington. The Commanders released Marshon Lattimore this offseason and let Jonathan Jones and Noah Igbinoghene depart in free agency. Washington signed Amik Robertson, who is expected to start in the slot, with Mike Sainristil and Amos on the outside. The Commanders also signed veteran Ahkello Witherspoon for depth and could add another player via free agency or the NFL draft to fill out the room.

Amos is a big part of Washington's future, and it's good to see he'll be ready for training camp. The Commanders' offseason program begins on April 20, with OTAs starting next month. Will Amos be a 100% participant in OTAs? That will be interesting to see, but the chances certainly sound good.
