The Washington Commanders are back at training camp for Day 7 in Ashburn, VA. Head coach Dan Quinn spoke to reporters before the start of today’s practice. Veteran WR Stefon Diggs officially joined to team this morning and is scheduled for his first presser as a Commander after practice, along with players getting interviewed on the field.
Quinn welcomed Diggs to the team after his signing was made official before the start of practice. He was asked about added veteran WR on a $10+ million contract after saying he liked the current players in the group. Quinn said general manager Adam Peters is always looking to improve the team and add competition everywhere.
Three players will be practicing at training camp for the first time today. Trey Amos(fibula), Dorance Armstrong(ACL), and Tress Way(pectoral) passed their physicals and will start ramping up to a full return to practice today. Amos and Armstrong suffered season-ending injuries, while Way was injured leading up to camp, and was on the non-football injury(NFI) list.
Here’s more of what we heard from Quinn and Commanders players on Friday morning.

We expected Trey and Tress back. Diggs signing was known. Dorance back is a sneaky big deal. He was playing really well last fall before the injury
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) August 7, 2026
Dorance Armstrong:
Dan Quinn says Dorance Armstrong is “ahead” of where they expected but it’s not a surprise he’s back. Probably individual work early on

Trevon Diggs texted him:
