The Washington Commanders were pretty active during free agency, re-signing players they wanted to keep and signing new faces in an effort to improve the roster. In total, the Commanders signed just 13 new faces during free agency, and today their jersey numbers have been announced.

Running backs Rachaad White and Jerome Ford will wear No. 1 and No. 34, respectively. Wide receivers Dyami Brown and Van Jefferson will wear No. 6 and No. 12, while tight end Chig Okonkwo will don No. 85. Defensively, cornerbacks Amik Robinson and Ahello Witherspoon wear 2 and 24, and safety Nick Cross landed No. 25. Linebackers Leo Chenal and K'Lavon Chaisson have Nos. 54 and 45, respectively, and edge rushers Charles Omenihu, Odafe Oweh, and Tim Settle, Jr. will sport Nos. 90, 98, and 97, respectively.

You'll notice that Leo Chenal is wearing former Commanders' linebacker Bobby Wagner's number. This could signal that Wagner's time in Washington is likely over, as the goal has been to get younger and faster. Adam Peters, on paper, seems to have accomplished that goal, and Wagner will most likely see himself in a new uniform this fall.
