Crew defender Max Arfsten has made the cut for the United States Men's National Soccer team roster for the 2026 World Cup, according to multiple reports on May 23.
One of 10 defenders listed on the 26-man roster, Arfsten is the lone representative from the Crew on the U.S. team. Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte was one of five goalkeepers in contention to make the roster but missed the cut.
Arfsten has 18 caps, one goal and five starts for the national team. He was called up to the national team roster in March 2026 for friendlies against Belgium and Portugal. Arfsten played 73 minutes total in the two games.
Arfsten was the lone goal scorer in the Crew's U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal win against New York City FC May 20.
The U.S. team plays its first World Cup match on June 12 against Paraguay.
