Between now and training camp, we will be going through the Indianapolis Colts' full 90-man roster, previewing each player.
Up next is linebacker Devin Veresuk, who wears No. 48.
The Colts signed Veresuk back in January to a reserve/future contract.
Veresuk played his college football at Windsor from 2020 to 2024. According to the Colts' team site, he played in the CFL last season. As a rookie, he was the second overall pick by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Versuk played in 18 games, totaling 66 tackles and 2.0 sacks with an interception and forced fumble.
There are a lot of unknowns surrounding the Colts' linebacker depth chart, which can create opportunity, but realistically, Veresuk faces an uphill battle when it comes to making this team -- there are a lot of players to jump.
Along with CJ Allen, we saw Bryce Boettcher, Akeem Davis-Gaither, and Jaylon Carlies all take reps with the starting defense during offseason programs. Austin Ajiake has shown he can help on special teams, while the Colts seem quite bullish on UDFAs West Weeks and Tahj Chambers.
Standing out on special teams will be a must for Veresuk, but likely the best case scenario is that the Colts see him as a developmental player that they want to invest into and place him on the practice squad.
