The biggest story of the 2025 NFL draft was undoubtedly the Shedeur Sanders saga.
The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was widely viewed as a first-round prospect with many analysts projecting him to go in the top five.
Not only did the college star slip out of the first round, but he also fell all the way to the final day of the draft.
Sanders did his best to keep his spirits high throughout the process, but an incident over draft weekend dampened his mood.
It was revealed that at some point during the draft, the Cleveland Browns’ draft pick was prank called by a man pretending to be New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

The NFL launched an investigation and uncovered that the culprit was Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s son, Jax Ulbrich.
Although the Falcons and the Ulbrich family have since apologized profusely, they still ruined what was supposed to be the greatest day of Sanders’ life.
As it turns out, the son of legendary Dallas Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders was far from the only player who got prank called this weekend.
Indianapolis Colts fans were ecstatic when they finally found their tight end of the future on Thursday night.
They selected Penn State standout Tyler Warren with the 14th pick in what could be a franchise altering decision.
Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reported earlier today that the John Mackey Award winner actually thought he was going to be selected at No. 7 overall to the New York Jets.
Warren received a prank call while they were on the clock and ultimately had his dreams crushed.
Fortunately for him, he didn’t have to wait much longer for his name to be called, but it still must have been an awful feeling.
These players have spent their entire lives working towards these three days for an opportunity to have their name called.
Hopefully the outrage and emotion these prank calls have caused will dissuade any jokesters in the future from pulling off similar stunts.

Sources: Penn State TE Tyler Warren was also prank called during the draft, receiving a call when the #Jets were on the clock at No. 7. I’m told Warren’s camp believes it was the same number and/or area code involved in the Shedeur Sanders prank on Friday night.
