While much of Colorado's 2025 roster is largely unproven, their linebacker room is one of the most experienced groups on the roster, and Deion Sanders is not done adding talent.

The Buffaloes are in the final three schools for transfer portal linebacker Harrison Taggart from BYU. Taggart is the fifth-best linebacker left in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports. The other two schools left are NC State and Cal.

A staple of the Cougars' defense for the last two seasons, Taggart stepped into a larger starting role in 2024. Last season, the linebacker recorded 69 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one interception, primarily playing as an off-ball linebacker for BYU.

Taggart started his college career at Oregon, appearing in only three games and recording no tackles before he left for BYU. Sanders said after Colorado's spring game that he wanted to add one more linebacker in the portal, and Taggart would be the perfect addition. He was in Boulder last weekend on his official visit.

If Taggart were to commit, it would continue the Buffaloes' impressive 2025 transfer portal recruiting class. Colorado's class is ranked No. 20 in the country, which is the second-best class in the Big 12.
